COVID-19 UPDATE (April 10th 2020)

April 10, 2020

Dear Families

This letter is to provide an update to Lincoln Community Preschool families regarding the current COVID-19 mitigation protocols and their impact on Lincoln Community Preschool.

The letter to families dated March 27, 2020 stated “Lincoln Community Preschool will ‘pause’ its preschool program for the month of April 2020; preschool classes and tuition are being placed on hold until such time that regular classes may resume. All tuition payments are waived for the month of April 2020.” This policy continues to be in effect.

During the three weeks since closing, the teachers have cleaned and disinfected the entire school. The classrooms were emptied, the floors have been cleaned, disinfected and resealed, and all furniture, toys and materials have been cleaned and disinfected. The staff have remained healthy and there have been no know cases of COVID-19 at the school.

Lincoln Community Preschool continues to daily monitor the COVID-19 situation at the federal, state and local levels.

On April 4, 2020, the Governor of California issued Executive Order N-45-20 which states in part:

“...child care is essential for...parents who are considered essential critical infrastructure...including health care workers; emergency response personnel; key governmental staff; law enforcement; food and agriculture workers, including grocery workers; and education and care providers...”

California “encourages all programs that can safely reopen to do so in order to serve worker families during this State of Emergency.” On April 8, California created a free “Emergency Childcare” program for children whose parents are essential workers or whose children’s IEP/IFSP include early learning services. These families are now categorically eligible to receive free child care. Lincoln Community Preschool is authorized to accept payment through this Emergency Child Care Alternative Payment (AP) program.

Lincoln Community Preschool plans to open immediately to provide full time child care to families of essential workers, and for children with IEP/IFSPs, once families receive approval through the Emergency Child Care AP program. Contact Lincoln Community Preschool to learn how to apply. Lincoln Community Preschool will operate through the Emergency Child Care AP program Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-4:00pm and Friday from 9:00am-12:00pm for toddler and preschool age children. Child attendance each day is not required. A rigorous daily health check, in compliance with new regulations from the Department of Health and Human Services, will be conducted upon arrival. In addition to daily cleaning and disinfecting, a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the school will again be done prior to reopening the regular preschool program.

If you are interested in learning more about the AP program, and for information on how to enroll, please contact us by phone, email, or through Learning Genie.

Lincoln Community Preschool will continue to monitor and respond to the COVID-19 situation as appropriate.

Lincoln Community Preschool values the relationship with families; please reach out if there are any questions or concerns.

Kindly,

Teacher Debbie (916) 712-0684 Teacher Casey (916) 878-9693
